FIVE YEARS OF THE LEGAL TECH ASSOCIATION GERMANY
The Legal Tech Association celebrated its five-year anniversary yesterday – marking a truly remarkable success story.
Since its founding in May 2020, the Association has established itself as a powerful voice for the digital transformation of the legal market – and is actively driving change: politically, strategically and with a rapidly growing network.
GROWTH WITH IMPACT
With almost 200 member companies, the association now brings together players from all areas of the legal market. These include legal tech companies, law firms, publishers, legal departments, software providers, and legal expense insurers. The office in Berlin has also expanded in both personnel and structure in order to meet the increasing political and social demands. “Today, we are now much more than a niche association – we are a platform for everyone who want to make law fit for the future and we represent the entire legal market,” says Alisha Andert, chairwoman and founding member of the Legal Tech Association Germany.
IMPULSES FOR POLITICS AND SOCIETY
As a driving force, the association places strategic issues on the political agenda – from modern regulation of artificial intelligence to the reform of legal education. The association repeatedly has helped shape modernization of current regulations through position papers and by providing experts to the legal committees. Most recently, the association was involved in the civil procedure (ZPO) reform commission. “We need an intensive dialogue between politics, the market and society. That’s exactly what we are advocating for in political Berlin – bringing in the expertise of our members,” says Stefan Schicker, chairman of the Legal Tech Association Germany.
IMPULSES FOR LEGAL PRACTICE
With formats such as the annual “Legal Tech Day” conference, studies such as the “Legal Tech Monitor”, roundtables and expert groups, the association offers a variety of platforms and impulses for exchange, networking and further education. These events and formats constantly providing new impulses for digital change.
“The legal industry is facing a radical change. Technologies like artificial intelligence are changing how we work, advise and make decisions,” says Schicker.
“Anyone who wants to survive in tomorrow’s legal market, must embrace current technological developments now. We’ve been doing this in the association for five years – and no player in the market can afford to wait another five years,” Andert concludes.
